There are many reasons to make your website search-engine friendly – a process known as Search Engine Optimization.
- Several studies have shown that 80 to 90% of first-time visitors on a website find it using a search engine. If your site cannot be found using search engines, you are actually losing those 80 to 90% of first time visitors – who will of course never become repeat visitors.
- The traffic you get from search engines is targeted: visitors referred by a search engine are looking exactly for what your site is offering. Not only do sites report a major increase in traffic after an SEO campaign, but the increase in leads or conversion rate is usually even higher than the increase in traffic.
- Many of your competitors’ websites are already optimized for search engines. If your site is not, it most likely ranks below your competitors’, and therefore receives less traffic.
