Our services to help you drive more traffic to your site consist in 3 phases:
1. We determine the list of target keywords for your site.
The first step of any SEO campaign is to determine your target keywords; the keywords for which you want to be found (more information about keyword discovery). This is done in close collaboration with you, the client.
2. We deliver a report containing a list of recommendations, including:
- Site-level Optimizations
- Layout or architecture revisions. If the design of your site prevents the search engine spiders from visiting it, we will provide solutions.
- Robots.txt file setup (this file controls the permissions given to the search engine robots).
- Suggestions for new content to drive traffic; if you sell plants, a new section on plant care will attract visitors who may then become shoppers.
- Page-level Optimizations (for each page)
- Editing the site copy – the words that appear on the pages of your site. A suggested change may be as easy as replacing a pronoun by the noun is stands for.
- Improving HTML tags – the hidden pieces of information in the code of your web site. A suggested change could be to add an “alt” attribute to an “img” tag.
- Adding Meta-tags (keywords and descriptions) definitions.
- Off-site Optimizations
- Suggestions for link-building: we will establish a list of web sites that are candidates to link to your site (note: we will always avoid link farms and free-for-all sites, as those may incur penalties from search engines; see our ethics).
In the report, each recommendation is rated from 1 to 3 to indicate its priority. You decide whether to act upon each individual suggestion. You also decide whether to implement the suggestions yourself, or to hire BeNoted to implement them.
3. We perform the relevant search engine and directory submissions.
We research domain-specific directories and search engines, and submit your site to them, and to the large ones (Google, Yahoo, MSN, Open Directory).
After the initial SEO process, we suggest periodical follow-up checks (at 2 months, 6 months, 1 year, and every 6 months from then on). More information about follow-ups.
